Lumen CEO says restructuring created room to pursue AI-network growth

Lumen CEO Kate Johnson says the company chose an out-of-court debt restructuring while continuing to pursue large network opportunities tied to AI infrastructure.

Lumen published a September 15 leadership essay from CEO Kate Johnson describing the company’s debt restructuring and the decision to keep investing in its turnaround rather than enter a court-led process. Johnson says Lumen has since booked major hyperscaler networking deals and is positioning itself as critical enterprise infrastructure for AI.

The post explains corporate strategy and does not alter individual service pricing or support terms. Enterprise customers should continue to rely on their order forms, contracts and account teams for product-specific commitments.
