How sources are selected
For service terms and product details, RateMosaic starts with the provider's official website, legal terms, policy pages, help center, pricing information and product documentation. We link to the most specific relevant page available rather than relying on a general homepage.
Independent and public sources
Government records, regulatory publications, established news organizations and credible independent testing may be used when they provide context that a company source cannot. Secondary reporting is not used to override clear primary documentation without a sound reason.
Research follows the service
Marketplace profiles focus on seller, fulfillment and return rules. Software profiles focus on plans, billing, compatibility and account controls. Travel profiles distinguish the search platform from the company that takes the booking. Financial-service profiles require particular care around eligibility, fees, custody and transaction rules.
Scope and regional limits
A rule that applies to one country, payment method, seller, plan or product is not presented as universal. Where the available source is limited, the wording should preserve that limit.
Company claims
Marketing statements and company-reported figures are attributed to the company. A statement such as "24/7 support" describes what the provider advertises; it is not converted into an independent guarantee.
Information can change
Pricing, policies, product limits and service features can change. Profile summaries are a practical starting point, while the provider's current terms and checkout information remain the controlling reference for an individual transaction.
How corrections are handled
A correction request should identify the exact statement, propose accurate replacement wording and link directly to supporting evidence. We compare the evidence with the page, check its scope and update the factual content when a correction is supported.
Requests to remove accurate information, substitute marketing language or change a community score are not treated as factual corrections. Submitting a request does not guarantee a particular outcome.
