France began applying new environmental charges to the fastest-moving end of online fashion on September 1. Reuters reported that the formula takes account of factors including the size of a brand’s online range, product price and repairability, with the charge capped as a share of the item’s pre-tax price.
The measure does not apply to every Temu product or every market. Shoppers in France should use the final product and checkout pages to see the price and any applicable charge for the specific order, while customers elsewhere remain subject to their local tax, import and marketplace rules.
