Bruce T. Halle founded Discount Tire in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1960 with a single shop and an initial inventory of six tires. The business expanded across the United States while remaining focused on tires, wheels, installation and related services.
In 2026 the company reported more than 1,275 stores across 40 states. It operates primarily as Discount Tire and uses the America’s Tire name in parts of several states. Online tools include store-based inventory, appointment scheduling and Treadwell tire recommendations.
Customer Care handles order status, tracking, changes, cancellations, returns, promotions, invoices, warranties and general questions. Product-selection support has separate tire-expert numbers, while installation and local service questions can be handled directly with the selected store.
