Engineer Carl Miele and businessman Reinhard Zinkann founded Miele & Cie. in 1899 in Herzebrock, Germany. The company began with cream separators and has remained independently family owned by the Miele and Zinkann families.
Miele now develops household and professional equipment including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, refrigeration, coffee machines, vacuum cleaners and commercial systems. Product ranges and model numbers differ by country.
