Sidney Myer and his brother Elcon opened their first store in Bendigo in 1900. The business later expanded through the Myer Emporium and acquisitions including Grace Brothers, and returned to the Australian Securities Exchange in 2009.
In January 2025, The Myer Group launched a broader portfolio structure combining Myer department stores with specialty apparel brands including Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Portmans, Dotti, Jacqui E, sass & bide, Marcs and David Lawrence.
Myer customer service covers online orders, store questions, returns and loyalty through its Help Centre, 24/7 virtual assistant and Experience Centre. Individual brands within The Myer Group still maintain their own customer-facing stores and policies.
