About Wix

Wix is a software platform for creating and operating websites and online businesses, developed by Wix.com Ltd. The company was founded in 2006 by Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan after the founders encountered the cost and complexity of building a website for another start-up idea. Wix has since expanded from a visual site builder into a broader software-as-a-service platform that combines website creation with hosting, domain registration, e-commerce, payments in supported markets, scheduling, marketing, CRM-style tools, analytics, developer capabilities and products for agencies and larger organizations.

Wix identifies Tel Aviv as its headquarters and operates offices in multiple countries; it became publicly traded on Nasdaq in 2013. Product names and packaging have changed substantially over time, so a current profile should avoid presenting an older editor or retired product as the default Wix experience. The consumer-facing Wix platform, Wix Studio for agencies and professional teams, enterprise services, domain products and third-party apps can have different billing and support arrangements. One account may also contain several independently renewable items: a site plan, a domain, a business email product supplied through a partner, paid apps or other services.

That makes billing complaints difficult to interpret without identifying the exact invoice line and renewal date. Customers should review the subscriptions area in their Wix account rather than assuming that cancelling a website plan automatically cancels every connected service. Domain registrations are especially important because expiration and renewal affect ownership and site availability independently from a website plan. Third-party apps in the Wix App Market can also have their own developers, prices, data permissions and cancellation terms; listing in the marketplace does not make every app a Wix-built product.

Wix provides extensive self-service documentation through its Help Center and routes account holders into a customer-care flow that begins with chat and can escalate to an expert by chat, phone callback or email depending on language, issue and availability. The company warns users to use those official support routes rather than searching for an arbitrary “Wix phone number.” A callback model also means a legitimate support call may be initiated after a customer requests it, which is different from an unsolicited caller asking for account credentials.

Users should keep two-factor authentication enabled where appropriate and should not share passwords, verification codes or domain-transfer credentials in public forums or social messages. Website owners also need to distinguish Wix’s infrastructure from the content and business practices of an individual site built on Wix. Wix supplies the platform, but a merchant, publisher or creator normally controls its own site content, products, customer service and legal obligations. A complaint about an independent merchant should not automatically be described as a complaint about Wix itself. Similarly, uptime, feature availability, AI tools and plan limits evolve, and the current pricing page and account dashboard are better evidence than an old review. The durable corporate facts are the 2006 founding, three founders, Tel Aviv headquarters, Nasdaq listing and role as a website-building and business-management platform.
