About Ellos

Ellos is a Swedish fashion and home e-commerce brand founded by Olle Blomqvist in 1947. The company began as a manufacturing and commerce business and developed into one of the Nordic region’s major mail-order retailers before shifting toward digital commerce. Ellos published its first mail-order catalogue in 1953, expanded geographically through the Nordic markets and launched its first website in 1996. The wider Ellos Group’s first online store followed in 1999, and the group later moved increasingly away from the traditional catalog model toward e-commerce.

That history matters because many of the capabilities associated with the modern business—distance selling, logistics, customer accounts, payments and centralized fulfillment—were developed long before online shopping became the main channel. Today Ellos sells fashion, home furnishings, beauty and related lifestyle products through localized e-commerce operations, while Ellos Group also includes Jotex, Homeroom and the Elpy payment business. The group’s current strategy places particular emphasis on fashion and home products for women in mid-life and their families, although individual Ellos categories reach a broader household audience.

The ownership and corporate structure have changed several times. Ellos passed through ICA, PPR/Redcats, FNG and Nordic Capital ownership at different points. In 2024 Ellos Group received new owners in the form of a group of Nordic institutional and private investors, and a new parent, Ellos Holding AB (publ), acquired the operating group. On July 8, 2026 Ellos Group became listed on Nasdaq Stockholm under the ticker ELLOS. This makes older profiles that identify Nordic Capital or FNG as the current owner outdated. The consumer-facing Swedish site is operated through Ellos AB, while group-level governance, financial reporting and investor information sit with Ellos Holding AB and Ellos Group.

The distinction is useful because customers with an order problem should contact Ellos customer service rather than the investor-relations office of the listed parent. Product availability, pricing and policy are market-specific. Ellos operates localized services across Nordic and selected European markets, and shipping, returns, payment methods and promotions can differ by storefront. Clothing fit also varies across brands and product types, so customers should use item-specific measurements instead of assuming one size applies consistently to all fashion sold by Ellos. Home-furnishing products can introduce different delivery considerations from clothing, particularly for large furniture, fragile goods or items with special freight handling.

Those products may have different delivery times, return logistics and assembly requirements. Ellos publishes customer service through telephone, email, FAQ/contact forms and chat in its Swedish market, and the consumer site maintains separate routes from Ellos Group’s corporate contacts. The company also operates payment-related services within the wider group, so customers should identify whether a question concerns the merchandise order, payment account or another group service. Temporary campaign prices, product ranges and corporate financial figures should remain on the live consumer and investor sites. A shopper should focus on the actual regional storefront, seller, size or product specification, delivery method and current return terms rather than treating a group-level description as a substitute for order-specific information.
