About Marshalls

Marshalls is an off-price retail chain focused on branded apparel, footwear, accessories, beauty and home merchandise. The current corporate parent is The TJX Companies, Inc., which acquired Marshalls in 1995 and combines the U.S. Marshalls and TJ Maxx businesses within its Marmaxx segment. TJX’s official brand profile says Marshalls distinguishes itself from TJ Maxx through assortment, including a broader men’s department and a larger footwear offering, while both chains share the parent company’s off-price purchasing model. Marshalls operates stores across the United States, including Puerto Rico, and launched its U.S.

e-commerce site, marshalls.com, in 2019. Those channels are related but not interchangeable in every transaction. An online order has an order record and online-return process, while a store purchase follows the current store-return policy; product selection and prices can vary between stores and the website. Inventory is intentionally fluid, and the company warns that online inventory indicators are informational rather than a guarantee that an item will remain available until checkout. Customers should therefore avoid treating a product seen at one location or on one date as a permanent catalog item.

Marshalls’ official Contact Us page separates online and in-store inquiries. It currently publishes 1-833-888-0776 for online inquiries and 1-888-627-7425 for in-store inquiries, with live chat and email/contact-form options also available. TJX Rewards credit-card support is handled separately by the card issuer and should not be confused with Marshalls order support. Customers should keep their receipt or shipping confirmation, order number and item details when seeking assistance. Because Marshalls sells many third-party brands, the retailer should also be distinguished from the manufacturer. A product-quality issue may involve the product maker, but the purchase and return relationship normally begins with Marshalls when Marshalls was the seller.

Conversely, an item purchased from a different TJX banner is subject to the rules of that banner; membership in the same corporate family does not automatically make all stores interchangeable for returns. Off-price comparison-pricing language can also be misunderstood. Marshalls’ own site explains that savings comparisons relate to regular prices for comparable merchandise at full-price retailers and that savings vary over time. A professional profile should not turn those merchandising claims into a guarantee about every item. Store counts, operating hours, seasonal assortments and return windows can change and should be checked live. The durable corporate facts are TJX ownership since 1995, the Marmaxx relationship with TJ Maxx and the 2019 U.S. e-commerce launch.
