Rocket Money is a personal-finance app that began in 2015 under the Truebill name. Current Rocket Money and Rocket Companies material identifies brothers Yahya, Idris and Haroon Mokhtarzada as the founders and explains that the original product grew from a tool for finding and managing recurring subscriptions into a broader financial-management service. Rocket Companies completed its acquisition of Truebill in December 2021, and the business adopted the Rocket Money name in 2022. Rocket Companies' own history describes the transition in 2022, while Rocket Money's current press material says the official rebrand took place in August 2022.
The company is headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland and remains part of Rocket Companies, the publicly traded financial-technology group whose other brands include businesses such as Rocket Mortgage. That parent relationship matters for accuracy, but Rocket Money support is separate from support for other Rocket products. Rocket Money's current service can organize linked financial accounts and transactions, identify recurring subscriptions, support budgeting and net-worth tracking, provide credit-related tools, offer savings features and, for eligible users and plans, assist with subscription cancellation or bill-negotiation workflows. Rocket Money's own 2026 Help Center also shows that the desktop experience and membership access can change over time, reinforcing the need to direct users to current product pages for feature availability.
The service is currently oriented to U.S. users and U.S.-based financial institutions; an official Help Center article updated in 2026 says international banks are not supported at this time. That is useful current context but is still a product-availability rule that could change, so the stable Profile details should focus on corporate history, ownership and support. Customer help is notably digital. Rocket Money's official support page directs users to chat in the app or Help Center and to support@rocketmoney.com from the email address associated with the account.
It explicitly states that Rocket Money does not currently provide phone support and that support is handled digitally. This makes unsourced telephone numbers especially risky: a number found on an unrelated directory should not be labeled as Rocket Money customer service. The same first-party article notes that Rocket Money support can assist with Rocket Money accounts but not with Rocket Mortgage or Rocket Loans accounts simply because the brands share a parent. Media inquiries have a separate address, press@rocketmoney.com, which should remain labeled as a press contact rather than general support.
Account security deserves similar precision because the app can connect to sensitive financial data. Rocket Money's current security page says linked-bank credentials are not stored by Rocket Money and describes third-party account-connection providers such as Plaid, with Akoya used in some connections; its Help Center also documents multi-factor authentication options. Those are useful security details but are implementation information rather than a reason to imply that Rocket Money is itself a bank. Rocket Money is a financial-management technology service, and individual banking, credit and savings-related features may involve separate providers, disclosures and eligibility terms.
Users should read the current in-app or web disclosures for the specific feature they are using. Subscriber totals, claimed savings, bill-negotiation results and marketing statistics should be dated if mentioned because they are moving metrics and some are calculated from internal company data. Likewise, Premium pricing and promotional offers are transaction-level information rather than timeless facts. A professional profile should also distinguish cancellation of a subscription tracked inside Rocket Money from cancellation of the Rocket Money membership itself: the app can help users identify or manage recurring expenses, but a merchant subscription, a Rocket Money membership and a separate Rocket-family product are different relationships with different terms.
Keeping those boundaries clear is more useful than repeating broad “save money” claims. For disputes, login issues, membership questions, account deletion or feature-specific problems, users should start with Rocket Money's authenticated Help Center or support email rather than search-engine phone listings; for another Rocket company, they should use that company's own support channel.
