About Sellpy

Sellpy was founded in 2014 by Michael Arnör, Oskar Nielsen and Philip Gunnstam after Arnör returned from studying abroad and wanted an easier way to sell unused possessions. The founders built the business around removing the time-consuming parts of resale rather than simply creating another peer-to-peer listing site.

Sellers send eligible items to Sellpy, which handles sorting, quality checks, photography, descriptions, listing, customer transactions and fulfillment. Buyers therefore shop from a centralized catalog and can combine items into one order instead of arranging payment and shipping separately with individual sellers. Sellpy says the vast majority of its items come from community sellers, with selected company partners also supplying returns, samples or other goods.

H&M Group began investing in Sellpy in 2015 and became the majority owner in 2019; H&M Group continues to describe Sellpy as its most established resale platform. Sellpy nevertheless operates as its own second-hand service, with its own seller terms, fees, payout rules and customer accounts rather than functioning as a section of the H&M online store.

Returns, complaints and seller payouts are managed through the user profile. Current customer service offers weekday chat, telephone support at +31 85 208 6789 and email at hello@sellpy.com, with Sellpy asking customers to have an order or sale ID ready. Its support page currently states a 30-day return period for eligible purchases with the ID tag intact.
