About BILL

René Lacerte founded the company in 2006 after seeing how much time small-business owners spent handling invoices and payments manually. The original product was known as CashView; the company adopted the Bill.com name in 2008, became publicly traded in 2019 and rebranded the corporate identity to BILL in 2022.

BILL now brings several finance workflows into one platform. Businesses and accounting firms can use accounts payable and receivable automation, invoice capture and approval, domestic and international payments, spend controls, cards and expense tools. BILL also expanded through acquisitions including Divvy and Invoice2go in 2021 and Finmark in 2022.

Payment timing, fees, eligibility and transaction limits depend on the product, account verification and payment rail. Because BILL moves business funds, support investigations often require authenticated access to the account and transaction record rather than an unauthenticated public phone call.

BILL’s current support model is therefore account-based. Customers use the Help Center to chat with an agent or request a callback after verification. BILL currently lists live-agent chat hours of Monday–Friday 5am–6pm Pacific and Saturday–Sunday 6am–3pm Pacific, while sales, press and other corporate enquiries use separate forms.
