Orbitz operates on Expedia Group’s travel platform and is provided by Expedia, Inc. for the U.S. service. Travelers can search and book several categories in one account, and current Orbitz credentials participate in the broader Expedia Group account system used across selected affiliated travel brands.
Orbitz acts primarily as an intermediary between the traveler and the airline, hotel, car-rental company, cruise operator or other travel provider. The underlying provider controls many practical terms, including flight operation, baggage, property policies, vehicle conditions and some refund or disruption rules. The itinerary identifies the actual travel provider involved.
Booking changes are therefore product-specific. Some reservations can be canceled or changed online, while others require the travel provider or Orbitz support to intervene. Refund timing can also depend on when the airline, hotel or other provider sends funds back through the platform, so a generic “Orbitz refund time” is not reliable for every trip.
Orbitz’s Help Center is the main official support route and offers sign-in for personalized help, self-service cancellation tools, refund guidance and assistance organized by flights, packages, stays, cars, cruises and activities. Orbitz does not present one universal public support number for every booking, which helps reduce reliance on scam phone numbers circulated by third-party sites.
