About Straight Talk

Straight Talk entered the U.S. prepaid market in 2009 through TracFone Wireless. Verizon completed its acquisition of TracFone in 2021, bringing Straight Talk and the other TracFone brands into Verizon’s consumer portfolio.

The brand sells prepaid wireless plans, phones, bring-your-own-device service and selected home-internet products. Straight Talk’s current site states that its service runs on the Verizon network. Plan pricing, data treatment, international features, device promotions and eligibility rules can change, so the current plan page and broadband disclosures are the right source for purchase decisions.

Straight Talk has a long retail relationship with Walmart and is sold through Walmart, Walmart.com and StraightTalk.com. That distribution model is part of the brand’s identity, but customer accounts and technical support are handled by Straight Talk rather than Walmart store customer service in most service-related cases.

Support includes a dedicated help center, live chat, phone support and the 611611 text self-service system. For technical issues, Straight Talk asks customers to use another device when contacting support. Official social channels are useful for announcements; account numbers, SIM information and other sensitive details should only be shared through official support.
